Ready to step into a real-life history book? Santo Domingo is the very first city of the Americas – over 500 years old, packed with cobblestone streets, colonial mansions, and stories that started before anywhere else on the continent even existed. This full-day trip takes you deep into the Colonial Zone with a personal audio guide, an awesome local guide who actually knows their stuff, and a delicious Dominican buffet lunch to keep you fueled along the way.
From ancient fortresses to sweeping Caribbean views along the boardwalk, this isn’t your typical bus-window tour – you’ll be walking through it, touching it, and genuinely feeling the history. Add in a fun surprise 4D cinema moment and some free time to shop the colonial streets, and you’ve got a day that’s equal parts adventure and time travel.
One thing to know before you commit: this is a long day. Pickup starts between six and seven in the morning and you are back at the hotel around half past five, with a good deal of walking on old, uneven stone in between. Comfortable shoes matter more here than the packing list makes it sound.
