Some days call for being up in the treetops. Some days call for something small and soft sitting in the palm of your hand. This one gives you both.
The morning is yours on the zipline canopy in the Anamuya mountains: 12 lines strung across 18 platforms, including a stretch that runs a full 800 meters over the jungle below. The course is built to ease you in, so the nerves fade fast and the confidence takes over well before the longest run.
Then the pace changes completely. At Monkey Land, squirrel monkeys raised by a Canadian couple with more than 35 years of animal experience – 12 of them at the Toronto Zoo – climb down out of the trees to sit on your shoulder and eat right out of your hand. A stop at the Coconut House for fresh coffee, cacao, and tropical fruit rounds out the day before the ride home.
Book both, do both, and let the rest of the trip be the easy part.
One thing to plan for: the two halves of this day ask different things of you. The zipline has real limits – a minimum age of six, a weight range, a waist measurement, closed-toe shoes – while Monkey Land asks only that nobody in your group has a severe peanut allergy. Check both lists against your group before you book, not at the meeting point.
Only have time for one, or travelling with children under 6? Each half also runs on its own: the Zipline Adventure (about 5 hours, minimum age 6) and Monkey Land (3-4 hours, all ages).
